PinDrift vs 3uTools

3uTools is free, which is a real argument and we are not going to talk you out of it. Here is where free stops being the right answer.

Free, and the honest answer is that free is a real argument.

This page is written by PinDrift, so read it the way you would read any comparison written by one of the two products in it. What we can do is show our own losses, put the numbers where you can check them, and say plainly which parts we could not verify. That is the version worth publishing.

Where 3uTools is better

It costs nothing. If you need to drop a pin once and you are on Windows, paying us $70 for that would be silly, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Where we are better

It is one feature inside a large iOS management toolbox rather than a product, there is no iPhone app, and support is a forum. We ship an iPhone app, Anti-Speed, and a person who answers.

The difference that is not on the table

Every tool here, ours included, is a desktop program driving a tethered iPhone. The thing that separates PinDrift is that there is also an app on the phone, included in every paid plan, so the phone can hold and move its own location once it is installed. That is also where Anti-Speed runs: a live governor that holds the speed you report at the limit while the car does whatever it is doing. Nothing else on this page offers it.

What we could not verify

Everything above came from 3uTools’s own pages. These did not, so they are listed rather than asserted:

If you work at 3uTools and any of it is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

Which should you actually buy

If you are on Windows and you want to drop a pin occasionally, use 3uTools. It is free and it works. Pay us when you need the app on the phone, movement at a real speed, more than one iPhone, or somebody to answer an email.

Frequently asked questions

Is PinDrift better than 3uTools?

It depends what you are optimising for, and this page says so in both directions. It costs nothing. If you need to drop a pin once and you are on Windows, paying us $70 for that would be silly, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

How much does 3uTools cost?

It is free. Lifetime: Free. PinDrift is $70 once, or $9 a month.

Does 3uTools have an iPhone app?

No iPhone app PinDrift includes an iPhone app with every paid plan, which is what lets the phone hold its own location without the computer..

Can 3uTools control speed like Anti-Speed?

Not as a live governor, as far as we can tell. Not verified by us Anti-Speed runs on the phone and holds the speed you report at the limit while you are actually moving..

Do you have a free trial?

PinDrift has one with no card and no account. Not applicable, the whole tool is free

Ellis writes the guides here. Mostly that means reading Apple’s developer documentation so you do not have to, and testing what the tracking apps actually do rather than what their marketing says they do.
